This spring and summer have brought many changes for Daryl and I.
The kids moved back to the lower 48 with the grandbabies. In July, Daryl and I celebrated 21 years of marriage (though we’ve been together even longer), and we also marked our 7th anniversary in Alaska. We couldn’t be happier. Seven years in Alaska already—time has flown by!
As some of you know, I started the other blog back in 2018 when the idea for Follow Alaska was born, a year after our move here. But with many things left out or in limbo, it was sometimes hard to make sense of it all. Our Facebook page ended up providing a clearer timeline of events. It’s easy for me to hide behind a camera, take photos, and pretend, even just for a moment, that I don’t have any worries.
Now, we’re starting fresh, as you may have noticed if you’ve been following along. The blog has been wiped clean, something I never thought I’d do. And, the name has changed. Sometimes, you just need to start over, learn from your mistakes, and grow where you’ve been planted.
After seven years, we will be sharing and documenting the rest of our journey as a middle-aged couple still striving to fulfill our Alaska dreams.
For a brief version of our backstory, check out the About Us section on the site. For a visual of our adventures, please subscribe to our YouTube channel—we’d love to have you there!
Much love,
Lynn
